Sofidel alongside Plastic Free at an event to take care of the planet

A concrete gesture for the protection and safeguarding of the environment, an event that will take place simultaneously throughout Italy and will involve anyone who wants to take care of a part of our territory

On June 20th, the Plastic Free Odv Onlus association, with the support of companies attentive to environmental protection, such as Flowe, Sofidel Group, with the Regina brand, Var Group and Tua Assicurazioni, organizes a day of Plogging Day throughout Italy: keep fit, with a long walk or jogging, collecting waste and thus helping to keep the environment clean. The Sofidel Group, one of the world leaders in the production of paper goods for hygiene, has chosen to support the initiative with the Regina brand, confirming its commitment to take care of the planet.

After the success of the latest events, the national date of April 18 and the reclamation of the Po river on May 23rd, which saw the participation of over 20,000 volunteers and more than 240,000 kg of plastic and waste removed from the environment, Plastic Free keeps high attention to respect for the Planet with this new appointment. You can choose a small path to clean up, a park, a beach or an area of ​​your city, walking alone or with loved ones. The goal of the initiative is to remove 50,000 kg of plastic and waste from the environment, which will add up to the more than 800,000 kg already removed by the association to date, and travel in total, by all participants, over 15,000 km that they will be added to the approximately 10,000 km already counted in the Plastic Free Walk project.

In 2020 alone, the polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) packaging of 102 products was replaced with new paper packaging, with a reduction in the consumption of plastic materials of approximately 550 tons”.
