EPIQ presents its Weltap Pulper Feed System with Integrated Dewiring

Automated solution to enhance safety and efficiency in paper production

EPIQ, a company specializing in automated solutions for the paper industry, has introduced its Weltap pulper feed system with integrated dewiring, designed to ensure high-quality standards in papermaking.

This system provides a clean and simple approach to handling wetlap bales, improving safety by automating tasks that traditionally pose risks to operators. It is compatible with all types of pulps and performs wire removal, bale destacking, and metal detection, increasing efficiency and productivity while reducing maintenance due to decreased metal contamination.

The mechanism operates in perfect synchrony with an up-and-down motion: a sharp cutter removes wires on one side while a gripping device captures and releases the wires into a coiler that deposits the wire coils into a bin for easy recycling.

Additionally, the system uses gravity to move bales along a belt conveyor to a chute above the pulper, allowing a safe slide into the tank.

The equipment is standalone and can be integrated into existing conveyors, handling unique wetlap bale configurations weighing up to 3,000 pounds with moisture content up to 50%. It has a maximum throughput of 40 to 60 bales per hour, includes a destacker capable of handling two stacked bales, and achieves 98% wire removal.

Key features also include wire and metal detectors with wire catch and coiler mechanisms, slat-type feed conveyors, an integrated high-capacity bale destacker, an oversize metal detector (MDI-type), and a footbridge providing a safe inspection zone for processing non-compliant wetlap bales that fail metal detection.

EPIQ offers both remote and on-site technical support to ensure optimal system performance and help customers maximize operational efficiency.
