Cascades invests over $3.5 million to upgrade converting line at Kingsey Falls tissue plant
New equipment aims to boost packaging performance and productivity for the retail tissue segment

Cascades Inc., the sixth-largest tissue paper manufacturer in North America, has announced a recent investment of $3.56 million to modernize a strategic converting line at its tissue plant in Kingsey Falls, Quebec, Canada.
The project includes the replacement of the packager and bagger with high-performance equipment, which is expected to result in an 8% increase in the production rate at the packaging stage, as well as improvements in line availability and average speed.
“The project implemented at our Kingsey Falls tissue plant will enable us to increase our capacity and be valued partner for our current and future customers”, said Hugues Simon, President and CEO of Cascades. “This investment exceeding $3.5 million — part of our continuous improvement efforts — demonstrates our commitment to driving our growth”, he added.
The Kingsey Falls tissue plant, which was inaugurated in 1977, currently serves the household hygiene market, producing tissue papers made from 100% recycled fibers.
According to the company, this project represents an important step in strengthening its retail position, driving Cascades’ growth, and ensuring its long-term competitiveness.
