Gambini’s Flex600 Line delivers speed, simplicity, and reliability in consumer tissue production

With speeds up to 600 meters per minute, the Flex600 combines advanced technology and user-friendly operation to meet the demands of toilet paper and kitchen towel converters

Gambini has reaffirmed the strength of its Flex600 line — one of the company’s top-selling solutions for the production of toilet paper and kitchen towels — combining high-speed performance with simple, reliable operation.

According to Bartolomeo Marco Betti, Area Sales Manager at Gambini, the Flex600 line is widely recognized for its flexibility, efficiency, and ease of use. “Thanks to its design, this line can meet the needs of a wide range of customers, ensuring high-quality output from the first to the last roll”, he said.

A COMPLETE CONSUMER LINE BUILT FOR SPEED AND QUALITY

Capable of reaching speeds of up to 600 meters per minute — or 45 logs per minute — the Flex600 line includes several key components: two unwinders, an embossing-laminating unit, a rewinder, a tail sealer, an accumulator, a log saw, and a core maker.

The unwinders handle loads up to 5,000 kilograms and 2,500 millimeters in diameter. Paper tension is monitored in real time through a load cell system, ensuring consistent control throughout production.

In the embossing-laminating unit, Gambini integrates its patented AirMill® technology and the 4e.02 system. This system includes electromechanical pistons, a measuring roll, and pressure sensors, allowing operators to manage production parameters directly through the HMI. The Auto-Lamp system, which automatically regulates pressure between the steel and cliché rolls, further enhances consistency.

RELIABILITY IN EVERY STAGE

The 5158 rewinder operates with a classic transfer system using tampers and a double perforation unit for fast product changeovers. It also features top-down core management for improved accessibility.

The tail sealer applies glue uniformly using a linear bar, working efficiently at full line speed and handling diameters from 90 to 200 millimeters. The accumulator, supported by servo motors, ensures smooth loading and a steady flow of logs through the line.

The log saw used in the Flex600 features four cutting lanes and motorized pushers powered by servo motors, delivering up to 250 cuts per minute. It handles product diameters between 85 and 200 millimeters and includes a spark filtration system for enhanced safety.

Rounding out the system, the core maker reaches speeds of 130 meters per minute (45 cores per minute) and produces cores with diameters between 35 and 52 millimeters using two-ply cardboard.

TECHNOLOGY AND FLEXIBILITY AT THE CORE

“Among all the distinctive features of Gambini’s lines, flexibility and technology are what truly define us”, said Betti. He emphasized that the Flex600 is ideal for companies seeking a scalable, high-performance solution for converting toilet paper and kitchen rolls.
