
International Paper, the Memphis-based sustainable packaging solutions company, has been recognized by Ethisphere as one of the 2025 World’s Most Ethical Companies®. The award, given by the leading organization in setting and advancing standards for ethical business practices, highlights companies committed to high standards of business conduct.
International Paper received this recognition for the 19th time and is one of only two companies honored in the forestry, packaging and paper sector. In 2025, a total of 136 companies were honored, covering 19 countries and 44 industry sectors.
According to Andy Silvernail, president and CEO of International Paper, “being named one of the 2025 World’s Most Ethical Companies nineteen times is a testament to our team’s focus on creating a great place to work by doing the right things, in the right ways, for the right reasons, all of the time.”
Joseph Saab, the company’s senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, emphasized that the company’s success is based on “responsible decision-making and actions”, with values that promote “dignity, respect, openness and responsibility”.
Ethisphere’s evaluation methodology is based on the Ethics Quotient, which analyzes more than 240 aspects of companies, including ethics, compliance, governance, environmental and social impact, as well as initiatives that strengthen the value chain. The data collected undergoes a qualitative analysis conducted by industry experts, ensuring strict criteria in the selection of honorees.
The award reflects the positive impact of ethics on business performance. According to Ethisphere, the companies recognized on the 2025 list outperformed a comparable index of global corporations by 7.8 percentage points between January 2020 and January 2025.
