Kruger Products invests €12.2 million to expand Scotties® tissue production in Gatineau, Quebec

Expansion strategy and sustainability create jobs and increase production capacity

Kruger Products, a leader in the paper products industry, announced a significant increase in the production capacity of Scotties® facial tissues at its Richelieu mill, located in Gatineau, Quebec.

Investments of approximately €12.2 million in the new converting line resulted in the creation of 16 new jobs. This strategic investment aims to increase production by 25%.

In addition, as part of the expansion project, another component will be implemented at the Laurier Mill, also in Gatineau, to recycle tissue production waste. The waste will be repulped and used in the manufacture of other products, thus contributing to sustainable practices in the production chain. This component is expected to be completed by June 2025 and will provide an additional increase in productivity at the Laurier and Richelieu mills.

With a total of ten factories in North America, Kruger Products is well positioned to supply high-quality facial tissues under the Scotties® and Bonterra™ brands in Canada, in addition to the White Cloud® brand in the United States. Its portfolio also includes well-known brands such as Cashmere®, Purex®, SpongeTowels®, Scotties®, White Swan® and Bonterra™.

This expansion demonstrates Kruger Products’ continued commitment to meeting market needs while investing in sustainable practices and economic growth in the region.
