Ontex, an international leader in the personal hygiene sector, recently announced the launch of an innovative pilot project at its plant in Italy. This initiative focuses on the circular economy, transforming excess fluff pulp from diaper production into organic fertilizer.
The process is managed by Omnisyst and local farms such as La Terra di Gaia, where earthworms play an important role in converting 15 tons of pulp dust annually into organic compost. This action is part of Ontex’s broader sustainability strategy, which aims to eliminate production waste by 2030.
The company invites everyone to join its efforts to use raw materials efficiently and recycle production waste to achieve its goals. Interested parties can learn more about its sustainability strategy here.
