RENOVA trusts Körber to build a fully automated warehouse
Tissue paper company takes its finished products warehouse to the next level in Torres Novas, Portugal
Renova recently consolidated an investment plan for the construction of a new tissue paper manufacturing unit in Torres Novas, Portugal.
Based on a long-term partnership, beyond a customer-supplier relationship, Körber has supported Renova since 1993 with automation solutions for their intralogistics, as well as, with tissue manufacturing technologies for their production. A Körber Ecosystem for the tissue industry, with end-to-end manufacturing and warehousing solutions.
This year Renova moves forward with Körber Supply Chain to increase their finished goods storage capacity and operational performance with the implementation of a fully automated warehouse (ASRS) for pallets, covering its wide range of tissue products and seamlessly integrated with the Körber WCS.
The new warehouse is connected to all existing operational areas by a high-speed monorail system, namely, the two production areas, the manual warehouses and the dispatch bays. Additionally, to cope with the new production activities, upgrade works on the existing tissue reel automated warehousing and transport systems will be implemented.
“For an international company like Renova is much more complex than showing temporary results. We have chosen Körber to optimize our processes’ efficiency, as well because we believe in Körber’s Ecosystem and its supply chain market knowledge. Due to the increase of our production capacity in the last years, we decided to invest in a new fully automated warehouse,” says Luís Saramago, Marketing Director, at Renova.
