Sofidel highlighted for sustainability leadership with CDP
Commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality drive towards a greener future
Sofidel, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of toilet and household paper, recognized for its Regina brand, has once again been highlighted in the Leadership band of CDP’s Supplier Commitment Rating Report.
The CDP rating, which recognizes the Group’s efforts to engage and inspire suppliers in the fight against climate change, awarded Sofidel an A- rating, placing it above the Paper and Packaging Products sector average (B-), as well as the European (B-) and global (C) averages.
CDP, a non-profit organization that supports investors, companies, cities, countries and regions around the world in controlling their impact on the environment, highlights Sofidel’s commitment to sustainability.
According to Riccardo Balducci, Sofidel Group Sustainability Director, “Supplier engagement is a key element of Sofidel’s sustainable development strategy, and being included in the Leadership band of CDP’s Supplier Commitment Rating Report is an important recognition of the work done together with our partners, in light also of our path towards our Net Zero 2050.”
Sofidel has recently reinforced its green transition policies by committing to Science-Based Targets (SBTi) to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The Net Zero target, which involves reducing greenhouse gas emissions and then eliminating residual emissions as close to zero as possible throughout the value chain, is in line with the European Green Pact and is considered crucial to limit global warming to below 2°C, in line with the Paris Agreement.
