Stora Enso NaturaFluff Eco pulp receives the Asthma Allergy Nordic label

With the label on hygiene or tissue products, consumers will know that the risk of allergic reactions on the skin is minimal

NaturaFluff Eco, Stora Enso’s fluff pulp with a lower carbon footprint and delignified with oxygen – meaning no bleaching chemicals are used in its production – has received the Asthma Allergy Nordic label, which indicates to consumers that the risk of allergic skin reactions is minimal with hygiene and tissue items made with the product.

NaturaFluff Eco is suited for use in absorbent hygiene products, such as baby diapers, feminine hygiene, adult incontinence products, as well as in air-laid nonwoven materials such as napkins, table-tops and various pads.

“NaturaFluff Eco, as all Stora Enso fluff pulp grades, already fulfils the requirements of common eco-labels such as the EU Eco label, Nordic Swan and Blue Angel. Qualifying for Asthma Allergy Nordic is the final proof point that this new, more environmentally friendly fluff pulp, is just as good and safe to use as traditional bleached fluff pulp,” says Marianne König, Product manager Fluff Pulp at Stora Enso.

Stora Enso is the largest supplier of fluff pulp in Europe. Its fluff pulp is produced at the Skutskär mill in Sweden and is FSC® and PEFC™ certified, which means that the wood raw material comes from responsibly managed forests.

The Asthma Allergy Nordic label is a partnership between asthma and allergy organizations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
