Stora Enso announced a profit of €84 million for the third quarter, a notable recovery from the €34 million loss recorded during the same period last year. The company reported revenues of €2.26 billion from July to September, reflecting a 6.3% increase compared to the previous year.
“I am pleased to demonstrate that our value creation initiatives and improvements in profit generation are yielding results”, stated Hans Sohlström, CEO of Stora Enso.
The Finnish company noted an uptick in packaging and cardboard deliveries throughout the third quarter; however, there was a decline in paper and pulp deliveries compared to the previous year. Stora Enso also cautioned that the upcoming quarter may pose challenges, as a slowdown in sector recovery is expected to adversely affect its results for the period.
