Suzano has confirmed a new increase in the price of eucalyptus pulp (hardwood) in the main markets in which it operates. This is the third consecutive increase announced by the company.
The new values, which will come into effect from March, will increase by US$20 per ton in Asia and US$60 per ton in North America and Europe. As a result, the price in Europe will reach US$1,220 per ton. According to a report by Bradesco BBI, prices in China should approach US$600 per ton, but this projection has not been confirmed by Suzano.
HISTORY OF READJUSTMENTS
In December, the price increases were US$20 per ton in Asia and US$100 in Europe and North America. In January, prices rose by US$20 in Asia and US$60 in Europe and North America.
For Bradesco BBI, the successive increases reinforce the upward trend for pulp prices in 2025. Although it depends on negotiations at the Shanghai Pulp Week, which takes place between March 17 and 21, analysts point out that the readjustment should be consolidated, driven by reduced inventories, firm demand and uncertainties on the supply side.
