TissueHub: Where Tissue Happens

Gambini offers a place open to any company which wants to explore, test and get the best out of their ideas about tissue paper

There has always been a focus on the final product in Gambini’s business philosophy. The company’s technologies are designed first and foremost with consumer needs in mind, and that’s how TissueHub was born.

One of Gambini’s three Italian plants has a pilot line available for companies wishing to test the company’s technologies and develop new products to introduce in their markets. This pilot line is full-width (2,850 mm), which means customers can run realistic tests and get a clear, reliable idea of the characteristics of the end result.

If a company decides to use the TissueHub, it will have complete access to technologies, staff, laboratory, and data studies. It will be able to work safely and in extreme confidentiality, securing an advantage over competitors.

In addition, experiencing and working in TissueHub provides an added benefit for companies that no longer need to stop a production line to do any product testing.

Gambini itself uses TissueHub to test its own technologies and products. In fact, the pilot line features two of the company’s most innovative components: the AirMill, the market’s first and only wet embosser, and the G1, an easy-to-use 3-roll rewinder.

TissueHub is set up as Gambini’s R&D department: a laboratory of ideas, a place to think and design the future of tissue.

The six excellence areas TissueHub has been designed to address:

  1. Design and test new tissue products (developed by customers)
  2. Develop embossing patterns
  3. Test and validate Gambini’s new technologies
  4. Make rolls for test samples (up to 50k rolls)
  5. Train operators
  6. Test suppliers’ products (glue, coreboard)

As any R&D department, TissueHub is constantly evolving. Recently renovated, it now provides new offices equipped with a meeting room, a totally renovated warehouse, a fully equipped laboratory, and a training room where training and refresher sessions are scheduled.
