Youth Crews launches diapers for youth aged 4 to 17 in the U.S.
Company founded by a father in Colorado aims to meet the demand for specific sizes for children with disabilities
Youth Crews, a new diaper brand based in Colorado, was launched this month in the United States, focusing on inclusive sizes for youth aged 4 to 17. The initiative came from the experience of Brady Crandall, a father of a child with a disability, who identified a gap in the market: the lack of suitable diapers for older children.
“We surveyed hundreds of families in our community, and 99% said that there was a huge need for a diaper for kids”, Crandall stated. “Ninety-six percent of all the people who responded to our survey said it was a top five daily problem, which was staggering to us, because a lot of these kids are dealing with epilepsy, seizures. A lot of them use feeding tubes”, he highlighted.
Crandall also mentioned that many families had to adapt adult diapers for their children due to the absence of intermediate options in the market. “The diaper industry is really segmented into adult diapers and baby diapers, all the way down to the machines that they’re made on. And so, it’s really challenging to build a diaper in these sort of in between sizes”, Crandall said.
