The Tissue Summit Brasil 2025, held on February 12 and 13 at the Tivoli Mofarrej Hotel in São Paulo, Brazil, brought together experts from various sectors to discuss the main innovations, challenges and prospects for the tissue and personal care industry. The event was marked by a series of lectures, presentations and panel discussions, covering topics such as sustainability, digital transformation, process innovation and new consumption models.
INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS
The first day of the event highlighted technological innovations such as process optimization in tissue paper manufacturing, with presentations from companies such as FactoryPal, Firefly AB, HERGEN and Química Nova Brasil. Filippe Dalponte, from FactoryPal, discussed the industry’s challenges, such as the shortage of workers and the lack of digitalization, and presented solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI). Firefly AB brought advanced fire prevention solutions, while HERGEN focused on sustainability and efficiency in tissue production machines. Química Nova Brasil presented innovations in the use of performance agents, such as the NOVAGREEN PLUS DS 8303 biopolymer, which helps to reduce white water in papermaking.
MARKET TRENDS AND CHALLENGES
The program also included presentations that explored consumer trends and the outlook for the sector. Gabriel Fernandez, an independent analyst, analyzed the pulp market, highlighting the shortage of new production capacity and growing demand from China. In the personal care segment, the panel debate moderated by Felipe Quintino, CEO of Nexum Group, addressed the market’s challenges and opportunities, with emphasis on the growth in consumption of urinary incontinence products and the search for innovations in the personal care sector.
SUSTAINABILITY AND OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY
Sustainability featured in several presentations, most notably BW Converting, which presented the innovation of the No-Core roll, eliminating the central core and reducing material waste. Henkel also shared advances with its Automated Dilution System, which allows for greater efficiency in the use of adhesives, and Tractian highlighted how AI can improve efficiency in production and reduce costs, especially in predictive maintenance of equipment.
AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
The event also saw the presentation of the Tissue Online Award, which recognized the main suppliers in the tissue market, and the Tissue Online Recognition, which paid tribute to personalities who stood out for their contributions to the industry.
