Cascades boosts tissue output in Quebec with $5.3 million investment
Upgrades at the Granby facility will increase production capacity and elevate product quality across professional and retail lines

Cascades has announced a $5.3 million investment to modernize its Granby tissue plant in Quebec, enhancing capacity and product quality for both away-from-home and retail segments. The improvements are expected to raise output by 20% by the end of 2025.
The upgrades include the installation of advanced equipment on two critical production lines, reinforcing Cascades’ strategy of operational efficiency and sustainable growth in the North American hygiene market.
The investment covers two strategic areas at the Granby site. One upgrade involves the addition of a new packer and a high-efficiency case packer to the line dedicated to producing bathroom tissue for the Cascades PRO away-from-home portfolio.
In parallel, a separate line that supplies the retail bathroom tissue segment is also being modernized with state-of-the-art technology. Both enhancements aim to increase throughput and improve finished product performance.
According to Hugues Simon, President and CEO of Cascades, the modernization supports the company’s long-term strategic goals. “These enhancement at our Granby tissue plant will expand our ability to meet the needs of our current and future customers. This investment is part of an ongoing effort to optimize our operations and consolidate our growth path”.
The Granby plant, acquired by Cascades in 2011, is a key facility in the company’s tissue network, serving residential, commercial, and institutional customers. With over 200 employees, it is one of the largest local employers and offers competitive wages along with a benefits program tailored to workforce needs.
The latest investment reflects Cascades’ focus on increasing asset performance and managing resources strategically to support profitable growth.
