Essity Earns Global Recognition for Leadership in Diversity and Inclusive Sourcing

Essity, a global leader in hygiene and health, has received two prestigious international awards that highlight its commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) across its operations and supply chain.

The company was ranked among Europe’s top five diversity leaders for 2026 by the Financial Times and, for the first time, was named a Global Impact Sourcing Champion for 2025 by WEConnect International.

Essity emphasized that these recognitions demonstrate how integrating DEI into its corporate culture drives innovation and delivers strong business performance. “We believe that embracing diverse perspectives and fostering an inclusive environment enhances decision-making and strengthens supply chains. These awards reflect the dedication of our teams worldwide,” said Ulrika Kolsrud, President and CEO of Essity.

 

The Financial Times ranking was based on a survey of more than 100,000 employees across 16 European countries, evaluating diversity in areas such as gender, ethnicity, age, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and disability. The methodology weighted responses from underrepresented groups, highlighting Essity’s fifth-place position among 800 companies.

Essity was also recognized as a “Global Impact Sourcing Champion 2025” by WEConnect International, an award that celebrates organizations championing supplier diversity, including women-owned businesses. In one region, Essity achieved a 27% increase in spending with small and diverse suppliers, reflecting its inclusive procurement strategy.

The company received the Bronze category award for its impact sourcing strategy, supplier engagement programs, and global market impact.
