GP Green Bay Day Street paper mill recognized with the EPA ENERGY STAR Challenge
This marks the fifth Georgia-Pacific mill to meet the EPA
Efforts to reduce water use, use energy efficiently and streamline resources used to ship products across the U.S. earned employees and GP facilities a variety of awards from the EPA.
On this occasion, the Georgia-Pacific LLC Green Bay Day Street paper mill has been recognized with the EPA ENERGY STAR® Challenge for Industry award. This marks the fifth Georgia-Pacific mill to meet the EPA pledge to reduce energy intensity by 10 percent within five years through improved energy management.
“In a small town, where there’s a paper mill, and the paper mill wins an award from the EPA, that’s a big deal to the town. When the plant is successful, the town is proud. Our goal is to keep renewing the benefit of having us in their neighborhood,” said Mike Younis, Georgia-Pacific Director, Energy and Sustainability.
