IMA TMC introduces redesigned WRAP250-NXT for high-speed tissue packaging
The new machine reaches speeds of up to 220 packs per minute and features Never-Stop Technology, rapid format changeovers, and an operator-focused design

The WRAP250-NXT has been designed to deliver high production capacity, reaching speeds of up to 220 packs per minute and handling up to 1,300 rolls per minute, depending on the configuration. The machine can package rolls with diameters of up to 250 mm, producing standard packs up to 410 mm in height.
These features make it the ideal solution for integration with the latest high-speed rewinding lines, ensuring continuous production and maximum efficiency.
One of the WRAP250-NXT’s key strengths is its ability to perform repeatable format changeovers in as little as 10 minutes, ensuring a continuous and efficient workflow. This capability enables tissue manufacturers to respond quickly to market demands and effectively manage increasingly just-in-time production environments.
The WRAP250-NXT is not merely an evolution of its predecessor but a complete redesign. The elevator unit has been entirely re-engineered through the introduction of a belt-and-pulley handling system, allowing mechanical speeds of up to 250 packs per minute. This significantly improves machine reliability while reducing the risk of unexpected downtime.
The machine frame and film unwinding unit have also been reinforced to minimize vibrations at high speeds, ensuring greater wrapping precision, improved pack quality, and enhanced long-term durability.
The proprietary Never-Stop Technology is one of the machine’s most innovative features. This system automatically verifies the correct roll configuration before products enter the elevator, detecting anomalies such as deformed rolls, misaligned rolls, or incorrect roll counts. Non-compliant configurations are automatically rejected without operator intervention and, most importantly, without stopping the machine.
The result is greater operational continuity, reduced waste, and improved overall line efficiency.
Another distinctive feature of the new WRAP250-NXT is its strong focus on ergonomics. The electrical cabinet has been separated from the machine, while all platforms and stairways have been eliminated, creating a fully accessible, single-level working area. This solution enhances operator safety and simplifies maintenance and cleaning activities.
The new HMI has been designed to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. Through the touchscreen interface, which graphically displays the pack and its folding lines, operators can directly adjust quality parameters by simply selecting the relevant area, with immediate visual feedback on the changes made.
