International Paper mill in Grande Prairie recognized at Alberta conference
The company received three awards that highlight its impact on the forestry industry

International Paper’s pulp mill in Grande Prairie, Alberta, received multiple awards at the recent Forest Products Association Conference. The event, which took place earlier this month, highlighted the company’s commitment and excellence in the forestry sector.
Of the three awards given to the plant, two of them specifically highlighted the outstanding performance of the pulp and paper sector. The “Excellence in Safety” and “Outstanding Achievement” awards were given in recognition of the outstanding efforts of this sector. In addition, a significant achievement was highlighted: the winning of the “President’s Award” by the entire plant, underlining the exceptional work carried out jointly.
The awards were presented at a special ceremony during the Annual General Meeting of the Alberta Forest Products Association. IP’s Plant Manager Lyman Rorem received the awards from AFPA Executive Director Jason Krips and Minister of Forestry and Parks Todd Loewen in a gesture that emphasizes the importance of these achievements to the forest industry.
This distinction highlights the outstanding work of International Paper’s Alberta pulp mill and its commitment to safety excellence and leadership in the forestry sector.
