Mercer International Inc. has announced a production pause at its Peace River plant to carry out repairs to the digester following a mechanical failure. The company estimates that the repairs and related evaluations will be completed by mid-October of this year. During this period, it is anticipated that NBHK’s production will be reduced by approximately 45,000 tons.
The company has also indicated that it has business and property interruption insurance, which will cover repairs and operational interruption, subject to established deductibles and limits.
