Metsä Fibre, a subsidiary of Metsä Group, has completed negotiations regarding potential temporary layoffs at its Joutseno pulp mill. These discussions, which concluded on August 26, 2024, involved all 190 employees at the facility.
As a result of the negotiations, it was determined that the Joutseno pulp mill will proceed with temporary layoffs as necessary, driven by current market conditions. These layoffs are scheduled to take place between September 2024 and January 2025, with a maximum duration of 90 days. The specific details regarding the timing and number of affected employees will be finalized by the end of this year.
