Metsä Group announces new Executive Management Team structure
New leadership roles, including COO and EVP positions for Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement, will support the company’s organizational realignment under incoming CEO Jussi Vanhanen

Metsä Group has announced the formation of its new Executive Management Team, effective July 1, 2025, in alignment with its updated organizational structure. The team will include the heads of the company’s five business areas, the Group EVP, CFO, EVP of Human Resources, and EVP of Legal and Compliance. Additionally, three new leadership roles have been introduced: Chief Operating Officer (COO), EVP, Strategy and Investments, and EVP, Stakeholder Engagement.
Jussi Vanhanen, who will officially assume the role of President and CEO on the same day, will lead the new team. Jaakko Anttila has been appointed COO. Anttila, who has been with Metsä Group since 2011, most recently served as EVP, Metsä Wood.
Wilhelm Wolff will join as EVP, Strategy and Investments, transitioning from Huhtamäki where he was EVP, Strategy and Business Development. His previous experience also includes strategic roles at Neste, UPM-Kymmene, and Rautaruukki. Wolff will start in his new role on August 4, 2025.
Tomi Salo has been named EVP, Stakeholder Engagement. Salo joined Metsä Group in 2019 and most recently served as SVP, Corporate Affairs.

Juha Pilli-Sihvola will serve as interim EVP, Metsä Wood and remain a member of the Executive Management Team until a permanent appointment is made. All members will report directly to Vanhanen.
