P&G provides relief to Florida communities impacted by Hurricane Helene
Procter & Gamble, in partnership with Walmart and Matthew 25: Ministries, offered free laundry, shower services, and essential care items to support recovery efforts in hurricane-affected areas
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has activated its disaster relief efforts to aid families, individuals, and responders in Florida, following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Residents in Perry, FL, and St. Petersburg, FL, are receiving essential personal care items, cleaning products, as well as access to laundry and shower services, through a collaborative initiative between P&G, Walmart, and the humanitarian aid organization Matthew 25: Ministries.
As part of the relief efforts, a Tide Loads of Hope Mobile Laundry Unit, powered by Matthew 25: Ministries, has been deployed to provide free, full-service laundry for those affected by the storm. Residents can bring up to two loads of laundry per household, which will be washed, dried, and folded at no cost. All types of washable clothing are accepted, except for heavy bedding.
Additionally, P&G has made shower trailers available for residents, offering hot showers in five private bathroom/shower units, one of which is ADA-compliant. The trailer is also equipped with a Pampers diaper changing station. Residents can access a range of P&G brand products, including Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Olay, and Old Spice, along with freshly laundered towels. All units are cleaned and disinfected after each use to ensure safety and hygiene.
In partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, P&G is also distributing personal care kits and cleaning supplies directly to impacted neighborhoods. These kits include basic hygiene products and household cleaning items to help residents maintain their homes and personal care needs in the aftermath of the storm.
Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida last Thursday, before moving into Georgia and other eastern states. The storm has caused widespread flooding and significant damage across the southeastern U.S., with the death toll continuing to rise.
P&G, alongside Walmart and Matthew 25: Ministries, remains committed to helping restore a sense of normalcy to the communities hardest hit by the disaster. Their combined efforts aim to provide essential services, such as clean laundry, showers, and personal care items, to both residents and first responders as they work through the recovery process. These services will be available free of charge while supplies last.
