Poise highlights the challenges faced by women in rural U.S. areas during perimenopause and menopause
Leading brand in light bladder leakage protection launches campaign to expand access to information and explores scientific innovation to transform women’s health diagnostics

Poise, the number one brand in light bladder leakage protection, is expanding its commitment to women’s health by launching a new campaign focused on women living in the so-called “health deserts” of the United States – rural areas with limited access to adequate medical care.
According to data shared by the brand, 80% of U.S. counties fall under this category, while only about 6% of the nation’s gynecologists and obstetricians practice in these regions. This directly impacts millions of women who enter perimenopause and menopause each year, often without proper diagnosis or access to information about symptoms – such as bladder leakage, a condition still surrounded by stigma, even though it affects 25 million women in the country.
In search of real solutions, Poise announced a collaboration with scientists who are researching the possibility of analyzing dried urine collected from internal absorbents to identify markers related to perimenopause, menopause, and even conditions like urinary tract infections and diabetes.
“Every woman deserves access to essential health information, no matter where she lives,” said Katie Moran, President of Adult and Feminine Care at Kimberly-Clark. “Women in rural health deserts face significant barriers, and Poise is committed to helping them have greater access to information about perimenopause and menopause.”
The brand also traveled across rural regions of the U.S. to hear firsthand accounts from women facing these challenges. Their stories were captured in the documentary Drops of Hope, directed by Oscar and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Sara Nesson. The film is now available at https://www.poise.com/en-us/drops-of-hope.
