Resolute employees make a positive impact with community fundraising and support initiatives
From raising funds for healthcare and youth programs to supporting educational initiatives, Resolute Forest Products employees across North America contributed to local communities through various charitable activities
Employees at Resolute Forest Products have been actively involved in fundraising initiatives and community support across various regions. In Alma, Quebec, twenty employees from the company’s paper mill participated in a dragon boat race, successfully raising US$7,550 for the Fondation de l’Hôtel-Dieu d’Alma hospital foundation.
Meanwhile, the team at Resolute’s Coosa Pines pulp mill in Alabama raised an impressive US$43,000 for the Children’s Hospital Intervention and Prevention Services (CHIPS) Center of the Children’s Hospital of Alabama. The funds were collected during the Alabama Forestry Association’s annual Log a Load for Kids golf tournament.
In Quebec, a delegation of 16 employees from the company’s Lac-Saint-Jean wood products operations and Montreal office took part in the annual Leucan Ultramarathon, raising US$101,889. The proceeds will go towards funding clinical research and resources for young cancer patients and their families. Additionally, a group from Resolute’s La Doré wood products facilities organized a basketball tournament for international workers.
Resolute’s Côte-Nord woodlands operations also contributed to educational causes, donating US$1,500 in scholarships for students pursuing forestry-related studies. In Mississippi, the Grenada paper mill donated US$1,000 each to the Boys & Girls Club of the Mississippi Delta and 100 Black Men of America, organizations focused on providing mentorship and educational support to underserved youth.
Students from the Innu community of Mashteuiatsh were invited to tour the Saint-Prime engineered wood products facility, offering them a glimpse of potential career opportunities. In Gatineau, Quebec, the company’s paper mill provided a sponsorship of US$5,750 to Forces Avenir, recognizing the efforts of high school personnel in supporting students’ achievements.
Additional contributions were made by Resolute’s Menominee pulp mill in Michigan, which donated US$500 to the Marinette Youth Baseball league. In Clermont, Quebec, the local paper mill contributed US$500 to a senior citizens’ residence, and the Dolbeau-Mistassini operations sponsored a local event benefiting single-parent and blended families. Lastly, the Normandin planer mill partnered with the Zanimés theater troupe, donating US$4,720 to support its annual family event.
