Resolute Tissue faces fire at its Sanford plant

A fire broke out early Friday, November 7, at Resolute Tissue’s manufacturing plant located on St. Johns Parkway in Sanford, Florida, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., prompting a rapid response from the Sanford Fire Department and Seminole County Fire Rescue, who worked together to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.
So far, no information has been released regarding the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage to the facility.
According to the company’s website, Resolute Tissue, a leader in the production of bath tissue, paper towels, and other tissue products, manufactures its lines using recycled pulp and/or virgin fiber, with a strong focus on sustainability and operational efficiency. The company is part of Resolute Forest Products, a North American group with a long-standing presence in the pulp, paper, and wood products industry.
Local authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident, and the company has not yet issued an official statement.
