Responsible Flushing Alliance incorporates The Hygiene Co, CleanLIFE Manufacturer
Coalition expands to promote responsible and sustainable flushing practices in hygiene product stewardship
The Responsible Flushing Alliance (RFA) has added The Hygiene Co. manufacturer of CleanLIFE wipes to its coalition. RFA, through its “Flush Smart” educational campaign, is dedicated to influencing consumer behavior, seeking to improve understanding of what should and should not be flushed down the toilet.
CleanLIFE, founded in Australia as part of The Hygiene Co, stands out as the country’s leading choice in specialty wet wipes. These wipes, made from purified water and wood pulp, are plastic-free, designed for sustainable use and environmentally friendly.
Lara Wyss, president of RFA, expressed her enthusiasm for the addition of The Hygiene Co. noting that, as an international member, it will play a vital role in closing global knowledge gaps on proper toilet use.
Phil Scardigno, managing director of The Hygiene Co. highlighted the importance of the “Flush Smart” campaign and its commitment to educating Australian consumers about sustainable alternatives in wet wipes.
From July 2022, the California Wet Wipes Labeling Act requires the “Do Not Throw Away” symbol on non-disposable wipes packaging. As the first Australian manufacturer to join the RFA, The Hygiene Co. is contributing to the mission to raise awareness and educate consumers about non-disposable wipes. The California law also drives consumer education campaigns to highlight the “Do Not Throw Away” symbol.
