Metsä Tissue celebrates 60 years of its Lambi brand
According to the company, this anniversary demonstrates the brand's commitment to delivering premium tissue paper from a value chain with significant sustainability commitments

This year, Metsä Group’s Lambi tissue brand celebrates 60 years of history, offering softness and quality to consumers throughout the Nordic countries. According to the company, this anniversary is a significant milestone in its journey, as it demonstrates Lambi’s unwavering commitment to delivering premium tissue paper from a value chain with significant sustainability commitments.
According to Metsä Tissue, the Lambi brand is and has been synonymous with softness, quality and local production. A study conducted in 2024 showed that more than 70% of Finnish consumers and 40% of Swedish consumers prefer to buy locally produced tissue products. Lambi products are made at Metsä Tissue’s mills in Finland, in Mänttä, and in Sweden, in Mariestad and Småland, from fresh fibers sourced from northern forests.
Lambi’s choices, producing locally and manufacturing the products with fresh fibers from the North, reflect Metsä Group’s commitments to contributing positively to the surrounding society and actively investing in reducing the environmental impacts created in the value chain.
In this context, Lambi’s 60th anniversary is highlighted on selected products in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. The festive packaging brings the Lambi celebration into stores and homes, naturally featuring the beloved and iconic lamb that has made Lambi a household name for six decades.
“This anniversary is more than a celebration; it’s a reaffirmation of Lambi’s promise of quality and softness along with its contribution to providing consumers with better choices. Lambi is made close to you from fresh wood fibres grown in the Nordics, and the production by local professionals in our mills is an important part of the local economy,” said Katariina Kukkonen, Marketing Director for the Nordic countries at Metsä Tissue.
To celebrate its 60 years as a supplier of local quality and softness, the brand has launched an anniversary draw which, throughout 2025, will draw one winner each month to receive Lambi branded products throughout the year.
“We want to thank our customers for making the softest choice for already 60 years and invite all to celebrate the quality, locality and our beloved lamb with us,” concluded Kukkonen.
