ANDRITZ announces acquisition of A.Celli Paper and strengthens its position in the paper and tissue sector

Transaction strengthens ANDRITZ's offer of complete solutions, expanding its operations in winding technologies, rewinding and specialized services

The international technology group ANDRITZ has signed an agreement to acquire A.Celli Paper, an Italian supplier with extensive experience in solutions for the tissue, paper and cardboard industries. With headquarters in Lucca, Italy, and operations also in Pinerolo, Italy, and Shanghai, China, A.Celli Paper achieves annual revenues of around 70 million euros and has a team of more than 100 specialized professionals.

Founded eight decades ago, A.Celli Paper has established itself in the market through continuous investment and innovation in equipment such as rewinders, winders, roll handling and packaging systems, as well as machines and services for the tissue segment. In 2020, the company strengthened its portfolio with the acquisition of PMT.

According to ANDRITZ, the operation is in line with its strategy of offering complete solutions to its customers, from fiber to packaged paper rolls. “This strategic move is driven by our commitment to providing comprehensive, innovative solutions to our customers. It expands our capabilities in key areas such as winding and rewinding technologies, making us a leading full line supplier from fiber to the packaged paper rolls, while also strengthening our service business,” said Alexander Wassermann, executive vice president of ANDRITZ Paper & Textile.

Alessandro Celli, a shareholder in the A.Celli Group, stressed the importance of the moment for the company: “In its eighty-year history, A.Celli Paper has developed a wide portfolio of products and services through investments and innovation. This has been made possible by the commitment of our family and our employees. Joining a multinational organization such as ANDRITZ represents an opportunity for A.Celli Paper to further develop and grow in the tissue and paper market. Despite the change, the priority remains to ensure business continuity and excellent service to our customers.”

Completion of the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and the approval of the relevant authorities.
