Cascades invests USD 15 million in new tissue converting line at Granby, Quebec facility

The company strengthens production capacity to meet growing retail demand

Cascades, a leader in sustainable packaging and hygiene products, has announced the installation of a next-generation tissue converting line at its Granby, Quebec facility. The company stated that this state-of-the-art equipment will increase the plant’s production capacity and improve product quality, driven by rising demand from the retail market.

The installation represents a USD 15 million investment, which will be carried out over a nine-month period. This project adds to USD 14 million invested in recent years, bringing the total investment in the site to USD 29 million.

According to the company, the new line is strategically located and will have a production capacity of approximately 3 million cases. Its start-up is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, enabling Cascades to better meet increasing demand for standard and multipack toilet paper formats.

 

In addition, Cascades highlighted that the investment will help maintain 239 well-paying jobs at the Granby facility, contributing to the economic vitality of the Haute-Yamaska region. In this way, the company reinforces its commitment to the communities where it operates by fostering local expertise and strengthening its regional workforce.

Cascades’ President and CEO, Hugues Simon, noted that the investment reflects the company’s commitment to being the preferred partner for its customers by adapting swiftly to market realities. He also emphasized that the new line aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy and the dedication of its teams to enhancing performance and competitiveness.
