EPIQ introduces Electric Pulp Bale Destacker for efficient pulp bale handling

The solution features an electro-pneumatic oil-less design developed to improve operational efficiency, reliability and life-cycle costs in the pulp and paper industry

EPIQ introduced the Electric Pulp Bale Destacker, a solution designed to efficiently destack pulp bales for the pulp and paper industry. By replacing hydraulic systems with a 100% electric and pneumatic (oil-free) design, the solution reduces maintenance requirements, eliminates the risk of oil leaks and simplifies day-to-day operation. The destacker removes bales from the top of any stack, improving operational efficiency while contributing to a lighter and more efficient machine design.

Furthermore, EPIQ noted that the solution was developed as a cost-effective alternative, keeping both the initial investment and life-cycle costs at low levels. In continuous pulp production, every unplanned stop matters. The electro-pneumatic design helps reduce maintenance interventions while keeping bale handling easy, reliable and predictable, while requiring minimal labor and supervision.

 

Regarding its technical features, the Electric Pulp Bale Destacker includes a robust welded HSS construction, a fully electric and pneumatic configuration, an integrated chain conveyor and the capability to handle stacks ranging from one to six bales. In addition, it incorporates pneumatic clamps with electric lifting functions.
