EPIQ introduces AD Lowering Upender combining roll tipping and lowering into a single automated solution

The fully electric solution combines roll tipping and lowering into a single system designed to improve efficiency, safety, and plant space utilization

The AD by EPIQ Lowering Upender is a solution designed for the pulp and paper industry combining two traditionally separate operations, roll tipping and lowering, into a single step.

By automating the complete roll orientation sequence, the fully electrical system improves production efficiency, reduces equipment footprint anda delivers consistente, damage-free roll handling.

According to the company, the solution automates roll handling to deliver faster and more precise roll orientation.

By replacing two independente machines with a single integrated system, the Lowering Upender simplifles roll handling while reducing equipment footprint and system complexity. A high-efficiency counterweight system minimizes the power required for each operating cycle, reducing energy consumption while allowing the use of a smaller electric drive.

Key features include a heavy-duty steel structure, infeed and outfeed conveyors for smooth material transfer, a compact design, quiet operation, an anti-runaway brake, and independently actuated upper safety gates.

Together, these engineering features deliver smooth, reliable, low-maintenance roll handling while supporting safe and continuous mill operations.

The Lowering Upender expands EPIQ’s portfolio of automated roll handling solutions, helping pulp and paper producers improve productivity while maximizing safety, reliability and long-term operational performance.

As part of AD by EPIQs automated roll handling portfolio, the Lowering Upender is designed to integrate with upstream and downstream conveying systems, helping optimize the complete roll handling process for rolls of different sizes EPIQ solutions are backed by both remote and on-site technical service.
