Essity receives recognition on the CDP “A List” for Sustainability
Company stands out for transparency and global climate action

Essity, a global reference in hygiene and health, has won a place on the prestigious “A List” of the CDP, a non-profit environmental organization, for its performance and commitment to sustainability and corporate transparency.
The CDP 2024 survey involved more than 22,000 companies from 130 countries, analyzing factors such as environmental goals, governance, impact reduction strategies and value chain engagement. The CDP classification ranges from A to D, and Essity is among the few companies to have achieved the top grade for climate, as well as receiving an A- in the forestry category.
“The recognition from CDP shows Essity’s commitment to become net zero by 2050 and our engagement in the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) since 2017. Improving the lives of over a billion people who use our products and services every day can only happen with a strong focus on sustainability,” said Sahil Tesfu, Essity’s chief strategy officer.
To achieve climate neutrality, Essity invests in decarbonizing its production chain, from the supply of raw materials to the use and disposal of products. Among the solutions adopted are the use of solar energy, geothermal energy, biogas and industrial heat recovery, as well as the continuous search for innovative technologies.
As one of the main buyers of fresh and recycled wood fibres, the company reinforces its commitment to sustainable forests, ensuring that all the raw materials used are certified by recognized systems such as FSC and PEFC.
CDP maintains the world’s largest environmental database and its annual information collection and analysis process is considered one of the main global references in corporate environmental transparency.
