Kimberly-Clark celebrates 150 years in Neenah

October 22 is now “Kimberly-Clark Day” in the city of Neenah

This month, Kimberly-Clark celebrates a milestone in its history: 150 years since it began operations in Neenah, Wisconsin. On Oct. 22, 1872, K-C’s Globe Mill opened its doors for business for the first time on the same property its North American Experimental facility (X-Mill) sits on today and has since become a nearly $20 billion global powerhouse, doing business in over 170 countries, and employing around 45,000 people worldwide.

Kimberly-Clark primarily manufactures and sells products that people use every day, including feminine hygiene products, diapers, toilet paper, tissues, and even medical items. Among its best-known brands are Kleenex, Cottonelle, Pull-Ups and others that people find on their supermarket shelves.

To celebrate the historic milestone and the impact the company has made on the city of Neenah, K-C’s North American team invited select community members into the X-Mill to celebrate and announce “Kimberly-Clark Day” in the City of Neenah on Oct. 22, 2022.

The company also celebrated its 150th anniversary by gifting $150,000 to the Neenah Joint School District to help further science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) opportunities in the community.

“Neenah always has, and will be, our birthplace,” said Russ Torres, group president of Kimberly-Clark North America.
