The executive Magnus Groth officially ended his tenure as president and CEO of Essity after 14 years with the company. Although the change in leadership had already been announced weeks ago, Groth shared a farewell message on his LinkedIn account, where he highlighted: “This has been an incredible journey to be part of, 14 years with the company and 10 years as President and CEO of SCA and Essity”.
In his post, the former CEO looked back on the milestones of his tenure and expressed pride in having transformed Essity into a global leader in hygiene and health, with strong brands, a recognized sustainability strategy, and a meaningful purpose. He also highlighted the company’s positive impact on people, society, and the planet.
Groth took the opportunity to welcome his successor, Ulrika Kolsrud, noting that he is leaving the company in the hands of a leader with vision, experience, and deep knowledge of the business. “Essity is still a young company with great growth potential, and this is just the beginning of the journey”, he wrote, assuring that he will closely follow the path the company will take under new leadership.
He concluded by thanking Essity’s 36,000 employees for their trust, support, and collaboration over the years.
