Navigator receives “International Investment Award”

The Navigator Company, one of Portugal’s leading producers of paper and forestry products, was recognized with the “International Investment Award” at the 15th UK-Portugal Business Awards, which took place in Lisbon on April 30. The award recognizes the investment made by the company in the UK, through the acquisition of the British group Accrol, now called Navigator Tissue UK.

The award was presented by the UK Ambassador to Portugal, Lisa Bandari, and by the Trade Commissioner for Europe, Chris Barton, to Navigator’s CEO, António Redondo, who received it on behalf of the company. This initiative celebrates Navigator’s investment in the UK through the acquisition of the Accrol Group – now Navigator Tissue UK – a strategic move that strengthens the company’s international presence and positions it among the four largest tissue players in the UK market.

According to the company, internationalization has been one of Navigator’s main priorities, enabling sustainable growth, market diversification and leadership in the transition to responsible, innovative and sustainable solutions in the forest-based bioeconomy.

With the acquisition of the Accrol group, Navigator Tissue UK will integrate five industrial units dedicated to the production of toilet rolls, kitchen towels and facial tissues, reaching a total capacity of 131,000 tons of finished products per year.
