Ontex Academy issues over 2,000 certificates to healthcare professionals in 2024
Commitment to continence care education reflects Ontex's leadership in the sector
Ontex Group NV, a world reference in the development and production of personal care products, has announced that Ontex Academy has issued more than 2,000 certificates to healthcare professionals since its launch in 2024.
The milestone highlights the company’s commitment to providing high-quality interactive education, complementing the practical training offered by its field teams. The focus is on training nurses and caregivers in continence care, a topic of growing relevance in the face of the increase in global urinary incontinence.
The need for specialized qualifications in continence care has intensified, especially with the aging of the population and the increased demand for support for people with urinary incontinence, which affects 423 million people worldwide. In this context, Ontex Academy has emerged as an accessible and free learning platform, initially launched in the UK, with expansion to Belgium, France, Germany and Italy. The academy is also in the process of expanding to Australia.
Building on Ontex’s 40 years of experience in incontinence care, the academy offers accredited courses, developed by experts, with the aim of improving caregivers’ knowledge. Ontex is the only one to offer this service directly to its customers, complementing the field support of product specialists and nurse consultants.
“We have seen a growing need for solutions that support healthcare institutions in retaining and motivating care staff,” said Laurent Nielly, President of Ontex Europe. “Ontex Academy provides the tools to ensure that caregivers have the right knowledge and training, highlighting Ontex as a leader in continence care education,” he added.
With the future in mind, Ontex Academy will continue its expansion, including new courses that reflect innovations in the sector, ensuring continued support for healthcare professionals.
