The construction of Suzano’s new pulp mill in the city of Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, named Cerrado Project, follow the schedule with important advances registered until June. In a video, the company shows the progress of the work fronts of its new plant.
In the images it is possible to follow, for example, the beginning of the assembly of the drums of the DDW washers of the Fiber Line and of the forming table of Line 1 of the Pulp Extracting Machines. Work is also underway on assembling the biomass silo, the walls of the recovery boiler furnace and the pumps for capturing water.
In addition, the first segment of the furnace was positioned at the base of the Caustification and Gasification area and the main 138 kV substation in the Powerhouse was energized.
The video portrays the completion of earthworks at the Nursery of Seedlings in Ribas do Rio Pardo and the beginning of the staking work at the Inocência Intermodal Terminal. It also shows that, in reference to the “Yellow May” campaign on traffic safety, the construction site received a lecture by the Federal Highway Police (PRF), and that Suzano supported the “Make it Beautiful” campaign to raise awareness about sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents in the municipality, with activities throughout the month of May.
