Domtar begins installation of a new tissue converting line at its Tennessee mill

The investment aims to boost operational efficiency, enhance product quality, and strengthen supply to the U.S. tissue market

Domtar has started the installation of a new world-class, high-speed tissue paper converting line at its mill in Calhoun, Tennessee. The project is designed to increase operational output, improve efficiency, and support long-term scalability across the facility.

The advanced converting equipment will help better align the mill’s tissue production capacity with its converting capabilities, strengthening overall operational performance and enhancing Domtar’s ability to serve the U.S. tissue market.

In parallel with the new converting line, the mill is expanding its existing tissue roll storage space. This additional capacity will improve inventory management and provide greater operational flexibility to support current and future production needs.

According to Tony Sanders, vice president of sales and marketing, the investment underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence and future growth in the U.S. tissue market.

The upgraded converting technology is expected to improve product quality in response to growing consumer demand, while the expanded storage infrastructure will ensure the facility is well positioned to support future business and production requirements.
