Ontex appoints Laurent Nielly to lead the company’s next strategic phase

The organization announces a leadership transition following a period of transformation and operational strengthening

Ontex announced the appointment of Laurent Nielly as its new senior leader, bringing more than 25 years of international experience across Europe, the United States and Latin America. Nielly most recently served as President of Ontex’s European Division, overseeing the company’s retail brands and healthcare business throughout the region. He previously led Ontex’s operations in Brazil.

Throughout his career, Nielly has gained extensive experience at P&G, McKinsey & Company, PepsiCo and Coty, beginning his professional journey in finance and strategy. He later expanded his expertise into innovation, commercial excellence and performance management.

The Ontex Board of Directors expressed its appreciation to Mr. Gustavo Calvo Paz for his contributions as CEO and previously as a board member. During his tenure as CEO, Calvo Paz led the implementation of the company’s strategic transformation, including the divestment of non-core activities and the optimization of its operational footprint and product portfolio. These efforts enabled Ontex to strengthen its long-term focus on its core businesses in Europe and North America.

The Chairman of the Board, Hans Van Bylen, highlighted the significance of this leadership transition: “Under the leadership of Gustavo Calvo Paz, we accelerated our strategic reorientation and made important progress in strengthening our business and operations. The Board believes that Laurent Nielly is the right person to build on Gustavo’s achievements and lead Ontex in accelerating its value creation. The Board and I look forward to working with Laurent and the leadership team to achieve this ambition.”
