P&G helping those impacted by the pacific coast wildfires

The company is shipping products to help people affected by the devastation caused by forest fires

As part of disaster relief efforts, P&G is shipping products to help people affected by the devastation caused by forest fires that are occurring in California and the Pacific coast.

In partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, the company shipped seven trucks of products totaling 161,000 pounds so far. These shipments included products from Always, Bounty, Dawn, Downy, Gain, Gillette, Old Spice, Pampers, Pantene, Safeguard, Secret, Spic ‘n Span and Tide. Additional shipments to Oregon, Washington and California are planned for the coming weeks.

In addition, the P&G Disaster Relief fund has awarded a $150,000 grant to their partner Direct Relief, a California-based health care and humanitarian organization that has responded to US forest fires for decades.

To help people affected by the fires, Direct Relief is providing assistance and shipping forest fire kits, as well as additional N95 masks and other personal protective equipment, pharmaceuticals, first aid supplies and diagnostic equipment for medical facilities, emergency agencies, public health and evacuation centers in several states.

P&G says it will continue to monitor the situation to see how it can help bring about a sense of normalcy in these times of need as, to date, more than three million acres have been burned in California and one million acres in Oregon, hundreds of houses were destroyed and thousands of people were forced to evacuate.
