Resolute Among Top 100 R&D Spenders
Innovation has long been part of Resolute’s business strategy
Resolute was ranked among Canada’s Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders for 2021, marking its eleventh consecutive appearance on the annual list. Each year, Research Infosource Inc. profiles organizations committed to enhancing Canada’s global competitiveness in the knowledge economy.
Innovation has long been part of Resolute’s business strategy. Some examples include:
- The commercial facility specializing in the production of cellulose filaments, a sustainable biomaterial with a variety of applications, currently under construction at the Kénogami (Quebec) paper mill.
- The thermomechanical pulp biorefinery (TMP-bio) located at the Thunder Bay (Ontario) pulp and paper mill, which employs a patented technology developed by FPInnovations for the commercial production of large quantities of biosourced chemicals.
- The construction of a third phase expansion of Toundra Greenhouse, a cucumber-growing complex located in Saint-Félicien (Quebec), in which Resolute holds a 49% interest.
According to the company, these are just a few examples of investments demonstrating Resolute’s leadership in innovation, as well as the company’s important role in the circular bioeconomy.
