Sellars Absorbent Materials has appointed Wade Kemnitz as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), as part of a planned leadership transition at the company. Kemnitz succeeds Julie Graverson, who is retiring as COO at the end of October after 10 years with Sellars.
“We’re very appreciative of Julie’s dedication, determination and many contributions to our success during her 10 years at Sellars. She will be deeply missed,” Tom Sellars, CEO of Sellars, said.
Kemnitz joins Sellars with extensive experience in paper manufacturing and industry management. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of BiOrigin Specialty Products, a manufacturer of high-performance paper and tissue products that also supplies Sellars.
“Kemnitz has extensive paper manufacturing management experience. Most recently, he was President and CEO of BiOrigin Specialty Products, a leading manufacturer of high-performance paper and tissue products, and a supplier to Sellars,” according to a press release.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE AND DRC TECHNOLOGY
According to Sellars, Kemnitz brings experience in DRC (Double Re-Creped) technology, operational systems and organizational culture development. His previous roles also include management positions at Clearwater Paper and Kimberly-Clark, where he gained additional experience with DRC technology.
“Wade has in-depth industry knowledge and exceptional leadership skills managing complex systems. His knowledge of DRC (Double Re-Creped) technology, high-performance operational work systems and culture development will be a significant benefit to our company,” Tom Sellars said.
The release added: “Prior to leading BiOrigin, Kemnitz was in management positions with Clearwater Paper and Kimberly-Clark where he gained valuable experience with DRC technology. Sellars is one of only two companies that can make DRC products and the only manufacturer that produces high-quality DRC wipers from recycled paper and boxes.”
Kemnitz said he is looking forward to joining the company and contributing to its growth strategy.
“I am both excited and honored to join the Sellars’ team,” said Kemnitz. “Working with a team that’s focused on growth through innovation with a commitment to fostering a positive company culture is highly compelling.”
Kemnitz holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Murray State University.
