Soft N Dry introduces ecoLiite Core™: a sustainable solution for the European diaper market

The tree-free diaper core technology offers enhanced performance, sustainability, and compliance with the upcoming EU Deforestation-Free Regulation

Soft N Dry Diapers Corp., a leading company in tree-free disposable baby diapers, has introduced its latest diaper core technology, ecoLiite Core™. This new product replaces the company’s previous ecoFlex line, offering enhanced performance and sustainability for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and retailer-owned brands, with a focus on compliance with the upcoming EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR).

The ecoLiite Core™ marks a significant advancement in diaper technology, underscoring Soft N Dry’s dedication to producing environmentally friendly products that meet the needs of both commercial markets and consumers. The new core, which is 100% tree-free, enhances absorbency, durability, and comfort through advanced materials and innovative engineering. Additionally, it provides a lower carbon footprint and cost efficiency compared to traditional diaper cores made from tree fibers.

Matthew Keddy, CEO of Soft N Dry, stated: “As we introduce ecoLiite Core™ to the market, we’re taking a crucial step in revolutionizing the disposable diaper industry towards profitability and sustainability. Our new ecoLiite Core™ technology not only meets the highest standards of performance and comfort but also addresses the global demand for eco-friendly baby care products. Additionally, ecoLiite Core™ equips OEM partners and retailers with robust Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainability reporting tools, enabling them to meet growing consumer expectations for transparency and ethical sourcing in the new tree-free diaper EUDR era”.

According to the IMARC Group, the European diaper market reached 44.3 billion units in 2023 and is expected to grow to 70.1 billion units by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.1% from 2024 to 2032. Revenue from baby diapers in Europe is projected to reach US$ 9.34 billion in 2024, driven by the growing demand for baby care products across the continent.

With the EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR) coming into effect on January 1, 2025, diaper manufacturers in the European Union will need to comply with stringent new rules ensuring that their products do not contribute to deforestation. This regulation imposes strict reporting standards for products containing key commodities, such as the wood typically used in processed wood fiber diaper cores, ensuring they are sustainably sourced and free of deforestation. As a result, OEMs, retailers, and the 449 million consumers in Europe will need to adjust to these rigorous sustainability standards.

Soft N Dry’s ecoLiite Core™ is positioned to address these demands. As a tree-free alternative, the ecoLiite Core™ offers a sustainable and high-performance solution that aligns with EUDR requirements. By incorporating ecoLiite Core™ into their products, manufacturers and retailers can ensure compliance with the new regulations, reduce their environmental impact, and cater to the growing number of eco-conscious consumers seeking more sustainable baby care options.
