Suzano announces increase in pulp prices to USA and Europe
New prices will be valid from February, according to Credit Suisse
In addition to raising pulp prices by US $ 50 for its customers in China, where fiber will be traded at US $ 580 as of February 1, Suzano, a Brazilian pulp and paper company, is also making adjustments for North America and Europe. The information is from Banco Credit Suisse.
For North America and Europe, the increase will be US $ 70 per ton. Thus, the European price will be fixed at US $ 820 per ton and the North American will be at US $ 1,040 from February. In December, the company had already reported high prices, which went from US $ 750 to Europe and US $ 970 to North America for shipments starting in January.
In China, the price had already been increased by US $ 30 / ton in early January, to US $ 530. Also, in early January, Suzano readjusted fiber prices for Southeast Asia and the Middle East to US $ 600 a tonne. Thus, the company starts 2021 with readjustments in all markets, benefiting from the high pulp prices.
