Tork revolutionizes hygiene industry with Carbon-neutral dispensers
Tork's range of soap, toilet paper, and hand towel dispensers achieve carbon neutral status through emissions reduction and offsetting, marking an industry-first in North America
Starting on October 1st, the Tork® will offer carbon neutrality certification for a range of its existing dispensers in the United States. With this initiative, Tork becomes the first professional hygiene brand in North America to achieve this milestone. Carbon neutrality status is attained through a combination of carbon reduction and offset measures across the entire lifecycle, from raw materials to end-of-life. The 11 carbon-neutral Tork dispensers in the United States will be manufactured using purchased certified renewable electricity, and any remaining emissions will be offset through verified credits from climate projects.
The Tork is part of the global hygiene and health company Essity, which is recognized for its leading sustainability ambitions and targets. Since its inception in 1968, the Tork brand has consistently incorporated a sustainable approach into its products and services.

Essity will reduce the carbon emissions for the 11 Tork dispensers by using purchased certified renewable electricity for the production. To reach carbon neutral, the company will offset the remaining carbon emissions through investments in verified credits from climate projects with ClimatePartner. The selected projects reduce carbon emissions by supplying clean drinking water in Cambodia, providing energy efficient cookstoves in India, and supporting forest protection in Indonesia.
