Wells Fargo Center partners with Tork to elevate sustainability and fan experience

The collaboration introduced cutting-edge hygiene solutions and sustainability practices at the recently renovated Philadelphia arena

In a significant move towards enhancing sustainability and efficiency, Wells Fargo Center has announced a formal partnership with Tork®, a brand under Essity, renowned for its innovative hygiene solutions. This collaboration comes on the heels of the recent $400 million renovation of Wells Fargo Center, home to the Philadelphia Flyers, 76ers, and one of the nation’s premier venues for concerts and events.

The partnership will see the installation of a variety of Tork dispensing systems across the facility, including the Tork Vision Cleaning system. This advanced facility management software, accredited by GBAC STAR, will provide real-time data to cleaning staff, identifying service needs across the arena’s 180+ restrooms. The system aims to ensure a high standard of hygiene during the 220+ events hosted annually, allowing cleaning staff to efficiently prioritize their tasks and maintain optimal hygiene standards for all visitors.

Both Wells Fargo Center and Tork are committed to sustainability, with each organization having earned notable accolades for their efforts. Essity, Tork’s parent company, was featured on Corporate Knights’ Global 100 List, recognizing the world’s most sustainable companies. Similarly, Wells Fargo Center received the “Best Of The Best Sustainable Practices” award from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Philadelphia in 2023. A highlight of the partnership included the installation of carbon-neutral Tork PeakServe Continuous Hand Towel Dispensers, designed to minimize consumption and reduce waste.

“We are proud to partner with Tork to deliver an elevated on-site experience through sustainable hygiene management”, said Mike Sulkes, general manager of Wells Fargo Center. “Tork is our hygiene partner of choice because they help us maintain efficient cleaning operations while supporting our sustainability efforts to minimize our environmental footprint. The new technology will allow us to be even more efficient in our day-to-day operations while preparing before events and managing the guest experience during events”.

Matthew Urmanski, VP Sales & Marketing North America for Essity Professional Hygiene, echoed this sentiment, stating: “Tork and Wells Fargo Center have a shared ambition to lead with innovative solutions that will advance the next generation of sustainable, efficient, and high-performance buildings. We are thrilled to bring our award-winning products and services to another world-class sports arena and help to deliver a best-in-class guest experience today and in the future”.
