INDA strengthens regulatory affairs team with the arrival of Kevin Conroy
Nonwovens industry association expands its role in public policy and regulations by hiring an executive with extensive experience in government and institutional relations
INDA, the association representing the nonwovens industry, has announced the appointment of Kevin Conroy as Senior Manager of Government and Regulatory Affairs, reinforcing its team dedicated to public policy and institutional relations.
With more than two decades of experience in government and political positions, Conroy most recently served in the State of Maryland under former Governor Larry Hogan, where he held leadership roles including Director, Chief of Staff, and Assistant Secretary of Agriculture. Earlier in his career, he worked in Washington, D.C., in the offices of Congressmen Chris Shays and David Dreier, as well as on the staff of the House Rules Committee.
According to INDA President Tony Fragnito, Conroy’s arrival strengthens the association’s ability to address high-impact regulatory issues. “We are excited to welcome Kevin to the INDA team. His wealth of experience will expand our government and regulatory affairs impact at the state and federal levels while positioning INDA for even more proactive advocacy for the nonwovens sector”.
The appointment was also highlighted by Wes Fisher, INDA’s Director of Government Affairs, who emphasized the strategic role of the new executive. “Kevin’s wealth of experience will allow us to hit the ground running on several issues important to the industry, including EPA rulemaking, state and federal PFAS and chemical regulations, and plastics”.
Throughout his career, Conroy has also led political campaigns at different levels, focusing on coalition building and electoral strategy. Now, based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, he will be responsible for strengthening the representation of the nonwovens sector in critical regulatory matters for the disposable personal care value chain.
