Ontex celebrates U.S. expansion and reinforces commitment to North Carolina community

Ontex Group NV, a global developer and manufacturer of personal care solutions, held a ceremony at its Stokesdale, North Carolina, plant to highlight the progress of its U.S. operations and recognize the support of local authorities.

Opened in 2022, the facility was selected as the company’s first manufacturing hub in the United States and has achieved significant results in just three years: it has tripled production capacity, now producing thousands of diapers per minute, and employs hundreds of professionals across different areas, from engineering to operations.

Paul Wood, President of Ontex North America, emphasized the impact of the investment. According to him, the plant is approaching US$ 100 million in capital deployed and represents a long-term commitment to the region. “As we look back to our commitment to build Ontex’s first U.S. manufacturing hub in the Triad, it’s clear that decision has exceeded all expectations”, he said.

The agenda also included a social initiative: the donation of diapers, training pants, and youth products to support families in North Carolina. “Ontex is more than a manufacturer. We’re a neighbor and a community partner”, Wood added. “We are committed to supporting North Carolina families during challenging times, and we will continue to invest, hire, and grow alongside this community”.

The event was attended by federal, state, and local officials, as well as economic development representatives. Among them, North Carolina Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger highlighted the project’s significance for the region. “The Triad has deep roots in manufacturing, and Ontex’s commitment to our region builds on that legacy. Its growth and success are a testament to its long-term prospects in Stokesdale. If these last three years are an indication, I have no doubt that we’ll be celebrating many more milestones to come”, he stated.
